Quereres is an academic research group that unites researchers and students dealing with differences, gender, and sexuality. Theoretically, the common perspective is a queer feminist one based on the Global South.

Since its creation, in 2004, Quereres contributes to the consolidation of gender and sexuality studies in the Brazilian academic system. The group is localed at UFSCar and is connected to the Department and the Graduate Program in Sociology.

The leaders, researchers, and students have created events and taking part in national and international seminars presenting papers, and also publishing in the most important Brazilian journals on gender and sexuality.

Since 2011, Richard Miskolci, the leader of Quereres, created an agreement with Annablume Editora and became the responsable for a new collection: Annablume Queer. The collection has already published 7 books and is available for online purchase on Annablume website

Quereres has also worked as a partner of the Federal Government in the offering of 3 editons of an online course on gender and diversity to more than 2,000 teachers around the country. This experience has also originated two books on differences in the education process, both edited by EDUFSCar, the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) university press.

Recently, most of the researchers developed in Quereres are devouted to understand the contemporary uses of digital media and how they are associated with a new queer visibility that started with the emergence of the commercial internet in mid 1990′s.
